Assistant Accountant
Full Time Permanent
South Dublin Hybrid
Our client, a well-established company based in South Dublin, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their growing finance team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of financial tasks, including preparation of key financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and assisting in month-end and year-end processes.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Trial Balance (TB) to Profit and Loss (P&L) preparation and will play a pivotal role in managing the financial processes of multiple entities.
What the Ideal Candidate Needs:
- Completed or actively pursuing ATI, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA qualifications.
- 1+ years of experience in a junior finance or accounting role.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong proficiency in Trial Balance to P&L preparation and analysis.
- Familiarity with cashflow management, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Experience with preparing P&L, Balance Sheet (BS), and cashflow statements.
- Knowledge of VAT, VIES, and ROS submissions.
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and a team-player mindset.
- Analytical and numerical skills, with strong presentation abilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Daily Tasks:
- Manage cashflow to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Assist with AP processes, including payments, invoices, and expenses.
- Post journal entries as required.
- Prepare ad hoc reports on AP and AR balances.
Monthly/Yearly Tasks:
- Prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow Statements for three companies.
- Conduct variance analysis against budgets and provide actionable insights.
- Assist with payroll preparation and ensure timely processing.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets.
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
- Work closely with the finance team to complete month-end and year-end processes.
General Tasks:
- Provide support to the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting.
- Handle VIES, VAT, and other ROS submissions to ensure compliance.
- Prepare and submit CRO filings as required.
- Review and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
