Accounts Assistant
Location: South Monaghan
4 Day week Permanent, Onsite

Our client, a reputable Irish company with a strong industry presence in Storage & Logistics are seeking an Accounts Assistant. This individual will play a key role in the Finance team, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling financial accounts, and supporting the preparation of management accounts and budgets. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented candidate looking to further develop their career in accounting and financial management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payables - invoice approval and processing of supplier invoices, reconciliation of creditor control accounts to supplier statements

  • Monitor expenditure through the accounts, ensuring there is a robust PO approval process across all departments, check for cost and accuracy

  • Review of accounts, process prepayments and accruals

  • Assist with preparation of management accounts

  • Assist in preparation of the annual budget

  • Maintain fixed asset register for additions/disposals and monthly depreciation

  • Maintain lease schedules for additions/disposals and monthly lease charge

  • Reconcile the relevant P&L and Balance Sheet accounts

  • Work with IT to troubleshoot any issues with the Sage system

  • Oversee Accounts Receivables function

  • Assist with year-end audit

  • Other finance duties as required


What the Ideal Candidate needs:

  • Part-qualified Accountant or AITI qualification preferable

  • Book-keeping and accounting experience necessary

  • Experience with Sage or other Accounting System

  • Experience working with MS Office and strong IT skills

  • Ability to work on own initiative and part of a team
